1. Call your housemates, landlord, family or friends
The easiest situation would be if you live with someone or rent a house or spare keys to a trusted friend or family member, so you can just call your housemates, landlord or friend and ask them to let you in.
2. Try other doors or windows
If you live alone and no-one has another pair of keys check the backdoor or windows you might have left open. An unlocked door or window is the perfect entry point. But for the next time remember that you should never leave windows or backdoors unlocked to protect your house and yourself.
3. Ask the neighbors for help
Still locked out of the house? Ask if your neighbor has a ladder you can also try to use it to get in through the second-story windows. Just remove the screen, pull the window, and get through. Make sure you have a secure ladder and a partner that keeps it secure while you climb.
4. Open the door with your credit card
This option is trickier as it requires some skill, but it works sometimes. First, choose a credit card or plastic card that you don’t mind damaging.
Find the point where the latch is located, insert your card in the doorway, Start pushing the card, and pushing your weight against the door lightly (this option doesn’t require a lot of force).
If you open the door successfully call the locksmith because now you know that your lock isn’t secure and everyone can get into your house.
5. Call the locksmith
Assuming none of the above ways of getting back in was available for you, or if you just want a professional to get you back in, the fastest way is to call a Locksmith.
